Rot Proof Materials


Before starting your next remodel project, you may want to consider rot proof building products.  Rot proof materials are available in several types and applications.  Fiber cement products like “Hardie Plank” or “Nichiha” can be used for siding, fascia, soffit and window trim.  PVC, polyvinyl chloride, or more commonly known as plastic are available for fascia, windows, window trim and numerous exterior trim applications.  Exterior columns and railings are just a few assemblies of these materials. Both products are good alternatives for wood and can be painted like wood products, but give you the advantage of being rot proof.  Windows and exterior doors are also offered in PVC, vinyl, or aluminum clad which when combined with exterior siding and trim, gives you a very low maintenance and rot proof exterior. 

Vinyl siding products are another rot proof option and available for siding, trim, and soffits.  Vinyl windows and Composite doors would complete the package for a rot proof exterior.  These products are available in several color choices to minimize painting maintenance.
